Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15302, "Replacement or reconstruction of existing facilities, structures, or other property where the new facility or structure will be located on the same site as the replaced or reconstructed facility or structure and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the replaced or reconstructed facility or structure. " This project includes replacement of existing school facilities to meet code requirements for Division of the State Architect approval. This replacement will have substantially the same purpose and will not expand capacity at these schools. Pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15314, "Minor additions to existing schools grounds where the addition does not increase original student capacity by more than twenty-five percent (25%) or ten (10) classrooms , whichever is less." The addition of the facilities in this project does not increase original student capacity by more than twenty-five (25%) or ten (10) classrooms. This project will not create significant impacts on the environment.
