Document Description
This project is located on Meadow Creek at Equestrian Way in the City of Arroyo Grande, in the County of San Luis Obispo and consists of removing silt which has accumulated on both the up and downstream ends of culverts under Equestrian Way. The culverts are filled to within 1 foot of their top and are not able to hold any additional flow at this time. A backhoe will be used will be used to reach into the channel at the site. No vegetation will need to be removed to place the equipment or remove the silt. The up and downstream ends of the culvert are clear of vegetation beyond the work area and will not be affected . The silt inside the culvert will be removed using water pipes to hose it out and then it will be picked up with the backhoe. The silt will be removed to offsite and will not reenter the channel. A California red-legged frog survey was done for another project approximately five months ago and none were found. This project was approximately 100 yards from the current application site. As the site is completely silted in it is doubtful any of these species are now occuring. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0282 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1601.
