Document Description
The proposed project is the stabilization of the north and south banks of Pope Creek, located at the end of Barnett Road, Pope Valley, Napa County, Assessor's Parcel Number 18-21-12. Bioengineered stabilization of the banks will occur using natural rock rip-rap and vegetation. The area of bioengineering will consist of 100 feet on two banks. The rock riprap will be keyed in and extend about six feet up the bank. This amount of rip-rap is a direct necessity of the extreme flows which occur during severe winter rains. Revegetation will extend above the rip-rap for another six feet up the bank. All work will be done while the creek is completely dry. A backhoe will be used from the top of the bank to place the rip-rap. All vegetation will be planted by hand and will consist of native riparian species adapted to survive after construction. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1207-99 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1603.
