Document Description
Establish a well for the Washington Ridge Conservation Camp. Three possible sites have been selected. The sites are numbered in order of priority. Sites 2 or 3 will only be utilized if sites 1 or 2 do not produce enough water. Site #1 is approximately 125 feet from one of the shop buildings at the camp. If the site is used, a trench will have to be excavated to lay connector pipes to the water supply system. Site #2 is adjacent to the gravel road. If the site is used, a trench will be excavated adjacent to the road. Site #3 is at the original water source for the camp when the camp was built in 1961. The original site consists of two concrete water tanks approximately 5 feet tall and 6 feet in diameter. The existing pipeline location will be utilized if this site is used.

Reasons for Exemption
The project entails maintaining a water supply system for the Conservation Camp. A well will be developed at one of three sites. The impact from drilling the new well will be minimal. Only that area to be drilled and subsequent trenches will be impacted. No archaeological sites are know to exist on the sites. No impacts are anticipated to fish and wildlife resources as the physical impact from the project is negligible. The tailings from the well drilling can be feathered adjacent roads.
