- On June 27th, 2016 the Oakland City Council introduced an Ordinance to prohibit the storage and handling of coal and coke at bulk material facilities or terminals throughout the City of Oakland. The accompanying Resolution, which was also approved on June 27, 2016, would apply the Ordinance to be the proposed Oakland Bulk Oversized Terminal in the West Gateway Development areas at the (former) Oakland Army Base).
