Document Description
The University of California, Davis (UC Davis) proposes to remodel and expand the Unitrans Bus Maintenance Facility located in the central campus east of Garrod Drive, south of La Rue Road, west of the Fleet Services Central Garage, and north of the UC Davis Arboretum. Unitrans is a student-run bus system that provides transportation for the campus population and the local community. The Unitrans Maintenance Facility Expansion Project would renovate the existing approximately 6,085 gross square feet maintenance building, add approximatel 9,860 gross square feet of new enclosed building space, and expand the facility by approximately 0.5 acre to improve circulation and increase parking space. In addition, the project would make the following improvements within the approximately 3.8-acre project area: relocate the chassis wash, provide protective overhangs over the fueling and service area and the relocated chassis wash, upgrade the diesel fueling equipment's security system, upgrade utility connections, and provide additional landscaping along the expanded facility's western and southern sides.
