Document Description
The proposed project consists of expansion of the existing church, day care facility, and school onto two adjacent parcels of 1.2 and 1.62 acres, respectively. The north end of the 1.2-acre parcel of land contains an existing car wash driveway that is proposed as an ingress only driveway to the Chapel, for eastbound traffic on Bonita Road. Additional parking spaces will also be located on this parcel. The 1.62-acre parcel of land will include additional parking spaces and a grass play area. The total number of parking spaces will increase from 101 to 178. The existing two-story 4,900 square foot chapel/education facility will be converted entirely to classroom use. The basement will be used for daycare activities and the first floor will be used for K-6 education. The number of daycare students will remain at 95 and total number of K-6 students proposed is 150. A new sanctuary covering more than 10,900 square feet with seating capacity for 675, that includes a bookstore, office and classrooms, is proposed. The new sanctuary will replace an approved 6,500 square foot sanctuary with seating capacity for 400 that was never built. Proposed hours of operation are Sunday from 8 am to 10 pm, weekdays for school and daycare from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, and weeknights from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Sweetwater Authority will provide water service; sewer service will be provided by the City of Chula Vista, and Fire service will be provided by Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District.
