Document Description
The Department of the Navy is proposing a complete removal action for site 5, Clean Fill Disposal Area at Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station. The removal action includes the removal of soil (disposal fill material) and processing the soil through a mechanical sifting apparatus to separate ordnance items and construction debris. Sifted soil will be temporarily stocked piled at site 5 and then relocated over time for beneficial reuse at other locations of the site. The discovered live ordnance will be detonated on site under the direction of Navy EOD personnel. All inert materials, debris scrap metal will be sent to off-site disposal facilities.
