The project proposes to amend the current General Plan Land Use designation on approximately 26.8-acres for the proposed El Centro Town Center Site located in northern El Centro. Additionally, a portion of the site east of Highway 86, between Cruickshank Drive and Bradshaw Road would be rezoned prior to subdivision development, from RAP, Residential Airport, to C-G, General Commercial. This approval would result in architectural and site approval for a 241,000 square foot Retail and Sales Services shopping center. The tentative map includes 126,200 square feet for a discount retail store, multiple other retail uses, and a 62,637 square foot detention basin.
