Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement number R2-2001-20 pursuant to section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Calpine Natural Gas Company of Folsom. This agreement pertains to horizontal directional drilling technology used to install a 9-inch diameter gas pipeline by boring underneath the Greenleaf 1 Drainage Canal. Where feasible, bore entry and exit pits will be located over 50 feet away from the edge of the drainage canal. The Streambed Alteration Agreement includes avoidance and contingency measures to avoid significant adverse impacts to fish and wildlife resources. The California Energy Commission prepared a CEQA equivalent document for this project, which is part of the "Sutter Power Project," in 1999.
