Document Description
The following four proposed projects, that may substantially divert or obstruct the natural flow or substantially change the stream bed, channel, or bank of a watercourse (California Fish and Game Code, Section 1603), involve: (1). at THP map point and crossing number 18, installing a system of French drains, cross drains, downspouts as outlets, and to create a stable running surface, geotextile fabric overlain by rock; (2). removing one 12-inch culvert on a Class II abandoned road watercourse crossing and reestablishing the original stream channel (map point WQ-4); (3) reestablish a dry Class II crossing for hauling purposes and install a rocked rolling dip after operations; and (4) install a 24-inch by 30-foot long culvert with downspout in a Class II watercourse that is currently draining a nearby spring. All projects are associated with the Timber Harvest Plan (THP) 1-00-362 MEN, Jayhawker. All projects are located, approximately 18.8 miles north of Fort Bragg in the Bear Haven (tributary to Ten Mile River) watershed, Mendocino County. The site corresponds to Sections 15, 16, 21 and 22; T20N, R16W, of the Mount Diablo 7.5 minute U.S. Geological Survey quadrangle map. All proposed projects are located on Hawthorne Timber Company, LLC (HTC) private property.
