Document Description
Control yellow startthistle (centaurea solstitialis) in the San Luis Creek and Medeiros areas of San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area. Treat approximately 20 acres of grassland habitat that has been invaded to prevent spread of the plant to other areas of the park. Area has been disturbed and vegetation currently exists of yellow starthistle, introduced annual grasses, and exotic weeds. Area will be mowed, then sprayed with a dilution of Transline (clopyralid) prior to bolting of the plants (February-April). Transline is very plant specific and will not impact grasses or most other forbs. Follow-up monitoring and spot spraying will occur as necessary and revegetation with native grasses and legumes will occur after yellow starthistle is removed.
