Document Description
Replace existing sewer line from just east of Quarters #11 to Bay outlet (West Garrison area) at Angel Island State Park. Cap and abandon existing concrete conduit in place under Quarters #11. Install a new line under Quarters via an existing opening and tie into new mainline. No alteration of historic fabric will occur and only a few PVC pipehangers will be attached in the basement of the structure to hold the pipeline true. Once completed, only the required sewer cleanouts will be visible in the historic landscape. All other trenching will occur in heavily disturbed areas. An underground radar survey failed to locate any notable archeological items along the new route. Site must be photographed before, during, and after construction. If any subsurface cultural resources are encountered, work will stop until the find can be evaluated by a Department of Parks and Recreation archeologist and project altered, if necessary, to protect the resource.
