Document Description
Replace existing sewer line to North Garrison at Angel Island State Historic Monument. Reroute line to avoid problems associated with current dry wash replacement. Where line must pass under historic concrete roadway, pass new sewer line through sleeve under roadway, if available. Otherwise, concrete will be cut, removed, and set aside. A 12-inch steel sleeve pipe will be inserted to prevent need for future disturbance. Historic Concrete will then be mortared back into place. New sewer line will be threaded through steel sleeve. All other trenching will occur in heavily disturbed areas. An underground radar survey failed to locate any notable archeological items along the new route. Site must be photographed before, during, and after construction. If any subsurface cultural resources are encountered, work will stop until the find can be evaluated by a Department of Parks and Recreation archeologist and project altered, if necessary, to protect the resource.
