The project consists of the transfer of a 1-acre site from the County of Sonoma for the purpose of expanding an existing public cemetery with an area designated for veteran burials. The use of the property as a cemetery is consistent with its zoning designation and General Plan land use designation. The improvements associated with the proposed use are limited to minor grading and trenching, the creation of ground burial plots and landscaping. The subject property, which is currently vacant, contains no historical, archeological, biological, or scenic resources. The project does not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
