Document Description
A concrete low-flow crossing exists immediately upstream from the project site and crosses the stream at an angle. High flows during 1997, combined with the angular low-flow crossing, combined to form a lateral scour that is threatening the north bank of the applicant's property. The proposed project would place Class 4 rock slope protection (RSP) along the north bank of the applicant's property to protect the bank from erosion during high flows. Approximately 75 to 80 feet of the bank would be graded to accommodate the RSP. Material removed from the bank would be backfilled in the spaces among the RSP, and the site would be revegetated using willow cuttings. A backhoe or similar equipment would be used for construction and would operate from the bank above the project site. The project is necessary to minimize or prevent erosion from occurring during future high flow events. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0360 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1603.
