All work will occur within footprint of existing systems and adjacent previously disturbed area. A Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) archeologist/historian will monitor all excavations. New Design will require two historic portland concrete cement graded catch basins and drains to be abandoned in place. Prior to start of work, construction and appearance of basins will be thoroughly documented by a DPR archeologist. Catch basins will be completely cleaned, filled wih a removable substance (e.g., decomposed granite) that will stabilize the resource, and covered. Grates will be removed and stored to protect further deterioration. All work associated with an historic resource will be conducted in a manner consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
