Document Description
Kern County Waste Management Department seeks to modify the Solid Wastes Facilities Permit for the Boron Sanitary Landfill and change operational hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm daily to 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, Moday, Tuesday and Thursday and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday. The proposal will decrease average weekly open hours from the existing 70 hours to 40 hours.

This project qualifies as a Class 1 Categorical Exemption, operation of an existing facility involving negligible expansion of use beyond that which currently exists because; 1) there will not be an increase in the permitted tonnage of waste received; 2) there will be no increase in permitted traffic; 3) the general public will not be significantly impacted; 4) the landfill has operated during these days and hours in the past; and 5) the Kern County Environmental Health Services Department has determined that there is no potential for significant impact.
