Document Description
The project consists of stabilizing exposed portions of a significant archaeological site (CA-SAC-164) and the adjacent riverbank through a combined effort involving native plant revegetation, vegetation management and physical geoengineering with sandbags and geofabric. Native plant material will be used for the re-vegetation. The purpose of the project is to protect a significant archaeological site (CA-SAC-164) that is suffering substantially from riverbank erosion and vandalism. Without immediate action, the riverbank will continue to erode and the archaeological site will continue to suffer significant damage and may be permanently lost. The area to be stabilized measures approximately 500 feet long by 15 feet wide; or 7,500 sf.
