Document Description
Safety-Kleen, Incorporated (SK) has received a variance from a hazardous waste manifesting requirement under Section 66263.42 of Title 22, California Code of Regulations (22 CCR). When certain conditions are met, this section specifies that eligible waste streams may be transported pursuant to a modified manifest procedure. One of the waste streams specified in this section is automotive parts cleaning solvent. This variance allows SK to transport parts cleaning solvent in addition to automotive parts cleaning solvent. SK must comply with all other requirements of Section 66263.42. The hazardous waste is solely a non-RCRA hazardous waste and the hazardous waste or its management is exempt from, or is not otherwise regulated pursuant to, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, as amended, and the hazardous waste, the amount of hazardous waste, or the hazardous waste management activity or management unit is insignificant or unimportant as a potential hazard to human health and safety, and the environment. This variance is valid only with a current California Hazardous Waste Transporter Registration.
