Document Description
Safety-Kleen, Incorporated (SK) has received a variance from a modified manifesting requirement under Section 25250.8 (b)(6) of the California Health and Safety Code (HSC), and Section 66263.42(d)(5) of Title 22, California Code of Regulations (22 CCR). These sections require submission of the generator copy (blue copy) of the manifest to the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) within 30 days of each shipment of hazardous waste. When operating pursuant to these sections, submission of the generator (blue copy) of the manifest to DTSC is duplicative and is not necessary for tracking purposes because SK is authorized to act as the generator, the transporter, and designated facility on the manifest. This variance is valid only with a current California Hazardous Waste Transporter Registration.
