Document Description
The proposed project consists of improvements to upgrade the existing infirmary at the Northern California Youth Correctional Center. The improvements include modifications to the existing facility. The existing facility is a single story building. A majority of the modifications are CTC Licensing related and will occur in the patient unit areas of the existing building (approximately 11,600 sf). In addition, the project includes consolidation of pharmacy storage (approximately 320 sf), renovation of staff lockers and lounge to make them accessible to the handicapped (approximately 450 sf) and an external exercise area (approximately 1500 sf). The project is needed because the existing infirmary does not conform to Department of Health Services regulations necessary for licensing. In general, the upgrades to the existing infirmary will address cleanable surfaces, fire protection, cooled air conditioning, emergency power, food serving areas and handicapped access. The project would accommodate the existing population and would not constitute an expansion of existing use.
