Document Description
The operator proposes to enhance 800 feet of Cerrito Creek between Talbot Avenue and Kains Avenue, along the southern edge of the El Cerrito Plaza Shopping Center on San Pablo Avenue in El Cerrito, Contra Costa County. A meandering low flow channel will be created in the existing bed. The existing north bank (consisting of earth, concrete, grout, and ashpalt) will be regraded to accommodate a 2:1 earthen slope, an 8 foot path, and another 2:1 earthen slope up to the parking lot (6 feet). This will result in a gain of approximately 34 feet of bank. Both slopes will be planted with native trees and shrubs. CDFG is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2002-0087 pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Jill Keimach/ City of El Cerrito.
