Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) approved the Feasibility Study/Remedial Action Plan (FS/RAP) for the Former Ramona Elementary School Site (Project Site). The remediation activities consist of debris removal to address the building debris containing asbestos and lead from the Casa Ramona’s Community Center and Childcare Center buildings which were burned beyond repair in 2020. In addition, once the debris removal activities are completed, the potential for shallow soil impacts at the Project Site will be assessed.
The areas selected for soil assessment will focus on the historically unpaved areas at the Project Site, such as the former school courtyards. Approximately 200 cubic yards of shallow soil could be removed from the Project Site as California-hazardous waste and disposed at an off-Site facility.
