Document Description
The City of Corona is proposing the development of a new City Hall building at the existing Civic Center site located along Sixth Street between Vicentia Avenue and Buena Vista Avenue. The proposed project would centralize all City offices at the Civic Center, provide enough building space to serve the anticipated future population of the City, and provide room for the Police Department to expand. To do this, a modern 125,000 square foot (sf) City Hall building would be constructed in the area presently occupied by two baseball fields. The baseball fields and field lighting standards would be relocated to another park within the City. The Police Department would then expand into the existing City Hall building which would continue to house some administrative offices. The Public Works maintenance yard, purchasing department building, and the community center would be removed to provide new parking for 600 cars. In addition to the on-site improvements, the City is also proposing to extend Third Street from Vicentia Avenue to Grant Boulevard. The new extension would provide two lanes of travel within a 67-foot right-of-way.
