Document Description
Approval of Minor Alteration No. WA2024097, under California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Article 3, Section 6, for work within an adopted plan of flood control: To replace two existing gauge stations. The Las Palmas Ave gauge station is authorized in the “Supplement to Standard Operation and Maintenance Manual San Joaquin River & Tributaries Project Unit No. 6 East Levee of the San Joaquin River in Reclamation Districts No. 2063 & 2091, constructed September 1961, Section 2-04 (3b): Miscellaneous Facilities." The Maze Blvd gauge station was mentioned as part of permit 6884 for the bridge replacement. The stations will consist of a 6-foot long by 3½-foot wide platform mounted to the existing concrete bridge, an access ladder, a railing, and a 3-foot diameter corrugated steel pipe, all within the existing footprint. The platforms will be positioned approximately 6 feet below the top of the roadway. All steel framing and grating will be hot-dipped galvanized and painted for added corrosion resistance. For support and mounting purposes, post installed anchors, bearing plates and steel compression jackets will be utilized.
