Document Description
The project consists of constructing concrete abutments, a wooden bridge, and the installation of gabions. The concrete abutments, which are 3 meters by 1.8 meters, will be located outside of the stream bottom. Approximately 5 meters of bank will be disturbed for the abutment and gabions on the right bank. There will be four meters of bank disturbed for an abutment only on the left bank. The gabions will be 4.5 meters in length with a width of one meter. There will be approximately two cubic meters of fill behind the gabions to shape the maintenance access road. The gabion baskets will be hand-set along the bank of the creek and will be planted with willow cuttings to help stabilize the baskets and bank. No equipment will be operated in the creek. The bridge deck is constructed to be above the 100 year high water elevation. The California Department of Fish and Game is Executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0008 pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Kelly Gearhart.
