Document Description
Replace existing entrance station kiosk and realign entry road at Calaveras Big Trees State Park to better serve visitors and operational needs. Reconfigure traffic pattern (two entry lanes, one exit) and repave. Construct ADA accessible pedestrian path to entrance station, regrade existing parking areas to ADA standards and re-asphalt. Restripe, including ADA parking space. Construct ADA compliant telephone area and drinking fountain. Construct new wood storage shed. Revegitate disturbed areas and areas where asphalt is permanently removed with native species and seeds from local sources. Existing utility service and sewer will service new structure, but conections will require trenching. All work will occur in previously disturbed areas. Archeologist will monitor all ground-disturbing activities. Existing kiosk to be relocated to permanent pad in existing maintenance/storage area, in a manner consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
