Document Description
Use a truck-mounted backhoe to dig down to bedrock in North Fork Willow Creek, Los Padres National Forest, La Panza quadrangle in an un-surveyed area equating to T30S, R16E, Sections I and 2, MDBM, San Luis Obispo County. Trenches will be excavated up to 10-15 feet deep, 2-3 feet wide, and 10 feet in length. Each excavation is estimated at approximately 2.2-5 cubic yards. Holes, trenches, and excavations will be filled immediately after ore is removed. Ore bearing sands will be run through a sluice box to separate the ore from the fines. No chemicals will be used at the site to separate the gold from the fines. Small dams may be constructed to catch water in Willow Creek. Excavation may be conducted in two designated work areas along the North Fork of Willow Creek, each work area is approximately 0.4 miles in length and are separated by a no work area of approximately 0.1 miles where a dirt road crosses North Fork Willow Creek. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0310 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1603.
