Document Description
San Elijo Joint Powers Authority, a public agency, proposes the installation and operation of three cogeneration microturbine units at its existing water reclamation facility. The microturbines will be fueled by digester gas to produce electricity. The waste heat from the turbines will be used to heat the existing closed-loop, heated water system that heats the digester sludge. Currently, the facility is permitted by the SPAPCD to burn the digester gas into the atmosphere, without the use of congeneration. This project will significantly reduce the air emissions resulting from the treatment of digester gas.
