Document Description
A 25-ton Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT) rig will be used to analyze levee composition by advancing a standard cone tip into the levee soil, ranging in depth from about 40 to 65 feet, at approximately 13 predetermined sites along the Willow Slough levee toes (landside and waterside) and crown. A Department of Water Resources (DWR) engineering geologist will direct the field operations. Sites will be cleared with Underground Service Alert for possible underground utilities. Upon completion of each CPT hole, the holes will be cackfilled using bentonite-cement grout and a tremie pipe. There will be no significant adverse impacts to endagered species or other fish and wildlife, water quality, or scenic or historical resources. This testing will occur between May, 2001 and May, 2002.
