Document Description
The project proposes a series of General Plan amendments and 14 Communications Hill Specific Plan text amendments. The General Plan land use changes are summarized as follows: (#1) Change the current land use designation from Heavy Industrial (27 acres) and Combined Industrial/Commercial (28 acres) to Industrial Park (55 acres); (#2) Change the current land use designation from Multi-Family Residential -24-40 dwelling units/acre (DU's/Ac) (6 acres) and Open Space/Trails (4 acres) to Parks/Play Fields (5 acres) and Public/Quasi-Public School Site (5 acres); (#3) Change the current land use designation from Parks/Play Fields (5 acres), Public/Quasi-Public School Site (5.2 acres) and Public/Quasi-Public Civic (0.5 acres) to Open Space/Trails (10.7 acres); (#4) Change the current land use designation from Open Space/Trails (6.3 acres) to Multi-Family Residential -24-40 DU's/Ac (6.3 acres); (#5) Change the current land use designation from Commercial (0.5 acres) to Civic (0.5 acres); (#6) Change the current land use designation from Utilities (2.0 acres) to Parks/Play Fields (2.0 acres); (#7) Eliminate the current Hillcap Avenue extension and add Old Hillsdale Avenue extension; and (#8) Realign Pullman Avenue extension between I Street and the railroad tracks (to align with 20th Street) and eliminate 19th Street between I Street and Vista Park Drive (Communications Hill Boulevard).
