Document Description
The proposed project will widen approximately 360 feet of the southbound portion of Driscoll Road between Beatrice Street and Timber Creek Terrace from one lane to two through lanes with a bicycle lane. Curb, gutter and sidewalks will be installed adjacent to the pavement area. The project will also remove an existing raised median island and establish a two-way left turn lane the full length of the project. Right of way from five properties will be acquired for the project. One of the properties from which right of way is to be acquired (3101 Driscoll Road) contains the Homer/Bond House that has been listed on the City of Fremont Primary Historic Resources list. The proposed roadway has been narrowed to preserve two major trees in front of the Homer/Bond House. A sidewalk to be constructed will pass behind the trees at the Homer/Bond House. A low combination retaining wall and sound wall along portions of the residential frontages is also proposed.
