The project area is covered under Plan Area Statement 022 - Tahoe Vista Commercial Community Plan in the Regional Plan for the Lake Tahoe Basin. This facility is listed as an allowed use within this plan.
The North Tahoe Public Utility District will install a new chlorine contact pipeline approximately 800 feet in length with a 60 inch diameter to meet Department of Health Services issued Surface Water Treatment Rule compliance order. The project will also include the installation of approximately 350 feet of ancillary, smaller diameter pipe to re-route flow.
