Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a lake and streambed alteration agreement number R3-2001-0007 pursuant to section 1601 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Mr. Tom Edell. This proposal is for the annual removal of vegetation for a period of 5 years. The purpose of the project is to reduce flooding along State Route 1 by removing vegetation (primarily cattails, bulrush, and willow) from the bottom of the channel using chain saws, weed eaters, and hand tools. The total amount of vegetation removed will be less than 1.5 acres per clearing. This activity has been undertaken, with all permits, for the past several years.
