Document Description
Extraction of 45,000 cubic yards of sand and gravel annually from a 10 acre area on the Salinas River that is mostly devoid of woody vegetation. Mining will involve skimming sand and gravel directly from the river bed using a rubber tire dozer, and stockpiling it on site near the unimproved Wellsona Road. It will be screened, if necessary, before being placed in stockpiles for loading into trucks. Approximately one foot of material will be removed at a time, and that amount will be uniform across the channel. Skimming will not occur when water is present.
