Document Description
The West Kern Water District ("the District") presently provides water by contract to Occidental of Elk-Hills, Inc. ("OEHI") in OEHI's capacity as operator of the Elk Hills Unit for itself and Chevron USA Inc. ("Chevron"). The District has also contracted to provide water to Elk Hills Power, LLC ("EHP"), a ground lessee of OEHI. The District provided water by contract to the Elk Hills Unit prior to OEHI's February 5, 1998 acquisition of the U.S. Department of Energy's interest in the Unit. Annexation of the subject lands is now required to provide a more stable water supply to OEHI, Chevron and EHP. This Annexation will result solely in the inclusion of the subject area within the District's water service area. No physical projects, environmental impacts or changes in the operational status of lands will result from this Annexation.
