Document Description
In order to enhance golden eagle nesting territory, the road down Brush Canyon in Chino Hills State Park will be removed and the slope will be recontoured. The removal of this road will eliminate disturbance to the eagles (a California Special Concern Species) caused by visitor use. The existing road is approximately 4,600 feet long and is surrounded by exotic and some native grasses along with patches of sage scrub. The recontured slopes will be planted with native vegetation. Heavy equipment such as an excavator and bulldozer will be used to eliminate the road and restore the pre-road topography. This will be accomplished by scarifying the roadbed and excavating and redistributing the road fill material. All work will be scheduled to avoid the nesting eagle and other breeding bird season.
