Document Description
The project proposes to install a utility crossing, which involves the excavation of an 18-inch-wide by 5.5-foot-deep utility trench lying adjacent to an existing concrete culvert; this trench will be filled with slurry backfill with an electrical conduit, water conduit, and a sleeve for future conduits. Once the conduit and slurry backfill is placed in the trench, a 4.5-foot-wide concrete slab will be placed over the proposed trench for erosion protection; in addition, 12-inch minimum size of rip-rap will be placed at the base of the concrete slab for additional erosion protection. Following the installation of the utility line crossing, any areas not replaced with a concrete slab or rip-rap will be filled in with native material to restore pre-construction contours to the ditch; the pre-construction elevation and contours of the streambed will be restored following completion of the activity. In addition to utility crossing, the project involves the installation of a concrete v-ditch adjacent to the wing wall of the concrete culvert; however, the construction of this ditch will not impact the streambed or bank of the drainage ditch, as described in the submitted application.
