Document Description
The operator proposes to replace a section of exposed 12-inch diameter natural gas pipeline. The pipeline crosses an unnamed tributary to American Canyon Creek several times. The section to be replaced is located along Line 21H between mile posts 8.4 and 8.6. The project site is located in American Canyon, Napa County, approximately 0.7 miles north of the intersection of Flosden and American Canyon Roads. The project site is located within the south west 1/4 of Section 19, Township 4N, Range 3W. The project will involve directionally boring under the stream to locate a new gas pipeline which will tie into the existing pipeline. The old section of exposed pipe will be abandoned in place. The boring for the new pipe will have minimum depth of cover of 25 feet to lessen the potential for a frac-out. Disturbance should be limited only to vehicle access and entry and exit pits to accommodate boring and reconnecting the pipeline. In the event a frac-out occurs, the operator will implement a boring and containment plan that will be submitted to the Department for approval before work may begin. Issuance of Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0171 pursuant to Fish and game Code Section 1601.
