Document Description
Drill a test hole to collect information necessary to the design of a heat transfer field (geo field) for proposed new Heat, Vent, and Air Conditioning System for the Weaverville Joss House. A 5-inch diameter will be drilled by Mud Rotary method to a depth of 250 feet, with samples taken at several levels during the drilling process. The drilling truck will be parked 75-100 feet away from the Joss House structure to minimize possibility of vibration impact on historic collections. Additionally, a museum curator and archaeological monitor(s) will be present during drilling and an archaeological site evaluation will be performed prior to actual drilling to avoid any impact to cultural resources.
