Document Description
Add permanent concrete footings for the northeastern side of building containing workshops. Repair failing wood structural rafters in shop structure and center garage (sand storage area). Sister new 2-inch by 8-inch rafters onto original wood members and install bolts through both old and new rafters to strengthen and support roof load. Remaining historic wood rafters will be retained and stabilized. Photo documentation of all impacted areas will occur prior to start of repairs. The bottom horizontal siding boards must be removed to pour concrete footings. Bats use the wood siding as a diurnal and nocturnal roosting site. DPR resource ecologist will survey site prior to beginning construction. If bats are present, approved exclusion devices will be used and/or if necessary, construction will be restricted to the period between September 15 and April 1, to avoid impacting the bats' breeding season.
