The proposed project would consist of 26,411 gross square feet of retina and glaucoma research space in a freestanding two-story building adjacent to and south of the Shiley Eye Center, within the northeast corner of the East Campus Health Sciences Neighborhood. An interior garden is planned between the existing and proposed facility for ground floor access, while a bridge would be constructed to connect the upper level research activities in the two facilities on the second floor. Health Sciences Walk, an important east-west pedestrian route in the east campus neighborhood would form the southern boundary of the proposed project site.
