Document Description
The project would consist of two phases, each of which would place rock-filled gabion baskets along the right-hand bank (looking downstream) of San Luis Obispo Creek, in the City of San Luis Obispo. Each phase would involve stacking four layers of gabion baskets, each layer being three feet high, three feet deep, and 21 feet long, next to the nearly verticle bank. The gabions will be planted with willow cuttings placed in protective sleeves to help stabilize the baskets and bank. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number #R3-2000-1293 pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Gerardo Mayor/Mountain View Center.
