Document Description
Soil characterization work consists of drilling small diameter holes into the ground to log various soil lenses. Samples of the soil removed during the drilling operation will be used to "classify" the underlying soils and to provide a means to take chemical analysis thereof. This will permit access to the stored information while the basins are full or partially full of water. The purpose of this project is to increase the level of knowledge relative to the recharge characteristics of the soils underlying the existing flood control basins and to better determine the quantity of water being recharged in order to better manage the overall Chino Ground Water Basin.
