Document Description
Dig four soil profile trenches to determine proper size, placement, and construction of replacement septic field. Proposed septic system in the Live Oak Residence will serve three residences. Evaluation of results from profile trenches will be made in consultation with the design engineer and Contra Costa County Environmental Health Department representative. Initial field visit by District archaeologist and resource ecologist will occur prior to beginning of trenching. Features in the area of Live Oak Camp strongly suggest the presence of subsurface archaeological deposits. Therefore, test trenching will be done under the supervision of a district archaeologist; work will stop immediately until unadvertent finds can be evaluated. Shrubs and Manzanita will be avoided during testing and no testing will take place within the dripline of any trees.
