Document Description
The project is limited to construction of a handicap-accessible viewing platform on the bank of the Sacramento River at the Tauhindauli Park, with an associated 6-foot wide walkway through the floodplain, extending from an existing pedestrian path. The viewing platform deck will be approximately 1o foot X 10 foot and will be elevated above the low water level by 1-3 feet. Construction of both the walkway and the platform will include pouring concrete footings at a depth below any potential scour (as much as 3' feet below the river bottom for the platform). Grading will occur to create level ground and then rip rap will be placed on the downside edge of the walkway to protect the fill slope from any erosion.
