Document Description
The purpose of the proposed project is to provide additional treated water capacity to accommodate existing and planned future populations within the City of Tracy service area. Build out of the Tracy area under the City of Tracy Urban Management Plan/General Plan is anticipated to result in a projected population of approximately 162,000. Treated water demand in the service area is expected to increase proportionately as the City's population increases. To meet projected demands in the service area, the City will require additional treated water sources by the end of 2004. The existing John Jones Water Treatment Plant (JJWTP) provides a water treatment capacity of 15.0 MGD. The proposed expansion project would include improvements to the City's existing treatment capacity from the current 15 MGD by up to 30 MGD, to 45 MGD.
