The purpose of Master Plan is to improve the physical appearance, economic vitality and circulation along El Camino Real, create opportunities for investment and help create a distinctive urban environment that displays a positive image for San Mateo. The Master Plan consists of a vision, streetscape plan (concept), design guidelines and recommendations for policy changes. It does not include specific construction projects in its scope. The Plan is expected to be implemented over a 10-20 year period.
