Document Description
The project would involve in-filling approximately 3,200 gross square feet (gsf) of exterior space south of the existing Main Library (Building #20) to accommodate the automated book retrieval system. The project site currently consists of grass and other hardscape. In addition to new construction, the proposed project would involve improvements to the duct, mechanical and electrical systems so as to meet building code requirements. Pedestrian walkways through the current exterior space would be rerouted around the project site. Any plant materials removed during construction would be replaced in kind to complement the library addition. In addition, a 2,670 gsf expansion to the Music Center (Building #71) is also proposed to accommodate a satellite library that would provide resources and reference material for dance and music students.
